Fairy Tales Debate

Wednesday, December 2nd, there was a successful debate about Fairy Tales. The whole class took part with a heated of conflicting views and giving a set of reasons in support of them. Vocabulary for debates

You could improve your speech at debate using some connectives. We´ll try to help with some examples:

1. To add information: and, also, in addition, besides, not only ..... but also....
2. To show contrast: but, however, although, on the other hand, in contrast
3. To express reason: because, since, due to, that is why
4. To express result: for example, such as, for instance.

You have more examples in the classroom chart......

Your task: use the connectives and write, at least, 5 examples.

I´m Jasmine:

I have lived in Inglewood, CA,

all my life. I was born in Huntington Park, CA.

I am the youngest in my family.

I have two older brothers.

I am the first one in my family to go to college.

I like to travel.

I have been to many places in Mexico, Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland and here.

I hope that I will be able to continue to travel.

I would love to go to Italy next and also visit more places in Spain.

I enjoy reading autobiographies and books about history. I am especially fascinated by WWII.

I love watching movies. I like all types of films, but I prefer to watch drama most of the time.

I also love to dance salsa.

I lived in Spain for 4 years doing the program-3 with you and 1 at El Lince School- and I absolutely loved the experience. I also loved living in Almonte and made a home there.....literally.....met someone and got married. I have returned to the USA and back to teaching high school Spanish.
